It might sound like a very complex process but it’s not. It is actually quite simple. You can learn how to make scented candles that are beautiful and full of fragrance.

Making them yourself creates a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment. Plus you will save a lot of money because high quality scented candles in the store are not cheap!

First you need to get all of your materials. You don’t need a lot and can find it all at any craft store. You will need wax, wicks, a thermometer, a melting pot, liquid color, scents and molds.

When you melt the wax, be careful where you melt it. A hot plate is the best idea, because it is easy to clean. Wax melting is hot and will burn fingers, so wait until everything has cooled until you try and remove any spilled wax.

Next you will need to melt the wax. A double boiler is great for this. Be sure to use caution as the wax gets very hot and will burn your skin. Make sure and wait for the wax to cool before trying to clean up.

Once the wax has melted you add the fragrance. Be sure not to use too much as it can cause the candle to not burn properly. You can experiment with this but usually just a drop will be enough.

Now you know how to make scented candles. It is not as hard as you think. Making your own beautiful scented wax candles means you do not need to spend time spending your money on other candles. You will have the satisfaction of doing it yourself and save some money too!
