Buffalo Beats Struggling Carolina

Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme is having a season he’d like to forget, and things got even worse on Sunday at home against the Buffalo Bills. Despite dominating the Bills on the stat sheet, Delhomme threw three interceptions that allowed Buffalo to take a 20-9 victory over the struggling Panthers. Delhomme threw for 325 yards, though without any touchdowns. The Panthers dropped to 2-4 while the Bills improved to 3-4.

Buffalo rewarded NFL pointspread players with the outright victory as +7 road underdogs. The Bills have covered four of their seven games this season, while the Panthers have an awful record against the spread-they’ve only covered once this season for a 1-5 ATS mark. The 29 combined points went UNDER the posted total of 37.

The Bills’ Terrell Owens was again a non-factor, but gave credit to the defense for earning the victory:

“You can’t really complain about a win. Defensively, those guys are keeping us in ballgames.”

Buffalo defensive end Chris Kelsay commended his team’s confidence on the road:

“Never once on the sidelines was there any doubt that we were going to win the game. Regardless if it’s an ugly win over not, it’s hard to win in this league.”

Ryan Fitzpatrick started at QB for Buffalo in place of the injured Trent Edwards and was solid, if not spectacular. Coach Dick Jauron observed:

“He made the plays when we had to make them.”

Panthers’ coach John Fox has said he’s going to’re-evaluate’ whether the struggling Delhomme should continue to start, and even the quarterback himself couldn’t make an emphatic case that he should keep his job:

“In my heart, yeah, but I mean let’s be honest, I don’t think I’m a dummy. When you’re not playing well offensively, you always have to look at the quarterback.”

The Panthers’ schedule doesn’t get easier this week as they head west for a game against the improving Arizona Cardinals. Carolina is a +9 road underdog with the total set at 43′. They’ll head south the following week to face the red hot New Orleans Saints. Buffalo will host the Houston Texans this weekend, with the game currently off the board due to injuries on both teams.

Ravens Go Undefeated On NFL Preseason By Thumping Falcons

Even when the games don’t count and the starters play little, if at all, the Baltimore Ravens hate to lose. Despite the Atlanta Falcons starting QB Matt Ryan playing only one series and with the Ravens third string signal caller John Beck playing the entire game it was apparent that Baltimore wanted the victory more. The former BYU standout threw for 232 yards and a pair of touchdown passes as the Ravens easily beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-3 at the Georgia Dome.

Sports enthusiasts who bet on NFL preseason action were rewarded for their investment in the Ravens, as Baltimore won outright as +3 road underdogs. Baltimore also finished the NFL preseason with a perfect 4-0 mark against the spread, while Atlanta finished 2-1-1 against the number. The 23 combined points went UNDER the posted total of 35. It was the Ravens third UNDER in four preseason games, while the Falcons split their O/U results at 2-2.

Ravens QB Beck hasnt had much playing time in the NFL since his ill fated rookie year in Miami in 2007. After the game, he expressed how pleased he was to get the opportunity to showcase his skills for the entire game:

“He (coach John Harbaugh) told me a few days ago that I would play the whole game. It was very exciting to get to play the whole game.”

Beck made the most of his opportunity, finishing with 232 yards on 16 of 28 passing and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions. The Ravens defense held the Falcons to just 175 yards of total offense.

Despite the loss, Falcons coach Mike Smith was nonplussed:

“You’ve got to understand in these games, you’re going to call things defensively and offensively to put players in certain situations to evaluate them. You’re not game-planning in a game like this. You’re going to put players in certain situations to see how they handle certain techniques and coverages.”

Falcon cornerback Chris Houston was a little more concerned:

“We’ve got to work on everybody getting to the ball. We’ve got to try to be more aggressive in our techniques. We made some plays tonight, but other than that, we still have a lot to work on as a defense.”

The Ravens will get the 2009 NFL regular season underway at home, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 13th. The Falcons, meanwhile, will welcome the Miami Dolphins to the Georgia Dome to get their campaign started. Baltimore will head west to San Diego for a game against the Chargers in week 2, while Atlanta will remain at home for a key NFC South matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Want To Raise Turkeys? Here’s Why You Should

Often times people assume that raising their own turkeys will be hard but after the first few months raising turkeys is relatively easy The biggest part of raising turkeys is for the first few month because you have to make sure that the turkeys are kept warm enough and are getting enough nutrition to survive. This can be avoided by buying turkeys that are a little bit older but if you want to raise turkeys with little start up costs it is recommended that you buy either eggs or newborn turkeys because they are very cheap to get.

There are an abundance of reasons people like raising turkeys and here are three of them.

1. Keeping turkeys as a source of food and extra income

Turkey is not just for the holidays anymore it is eaten in many forms throughout the year. It makes a wonderful thin sliced lunch meat, can be used in place of roasts, and makes a healthy ground meat.

Turkey that you have raised can also be sold for a profit if you are doing a decent amount of turkey farming.

2. Having turkeys for pets

While many people raise turkeys for food some actually keep their turkeys as pets. Some people actually do both, picking a few as their pets and using the others as a food source.

There are a lot of different breeds of turkeys to choose from but there are only two varieties, wild and domestic turkeys. The wild turkeys are turkeys that run free out in the wild even though some are kept as pets. Wild turkeys have the ability to be able to fly if needed and are consider by some the smarter of the two turkeys. The common turkeys we eat are the domestic turkeys, which cannot fly. Both turkeys have different physical traits and taste different as well.

3. Raising turkeys for their built in pest control

Turkeys have an incredible varied diet which consists of grass seeds, berries, leaves, and a whole lot of insects including mosquito’s, flies and ticks among others. This makes turkeys great as a means of pest control and it also makes feeding turkeys easier then ever.

There is something wonderful to be said about raising turkeys in your own back yard. Once you have learned how to go about properly feeding turkeys and taking care of them you will find yourself enjoying a fun and rewarding experience.

IPod – The Player For All

IPods appear to be taking over the world.

One sees them on the TV, and in the photographs. It appears that folk are going crazy over them! It is essentially not surprising this small device is captivating such obsessed attention, it truly is a superb device , it’d even be the coolest thing to turn up ever! The iPod is a pocket sized, ultra light drive based audio player, designed and sold by Apple computers. All the iPod models are well implemented in design, and can be employed even by babies. They supply a straightforward control panel and a scroll wheel to peruse the navigation system. What this implies is that you do not need to insert a CD or cassette.

An iPod is practical, functional, and lovable as well! There are three different configurations and sizes to select from. There’s the thin little iPod shuffle, the marginally bigger but even skinner nano, and the most liked regular iPod that will play all your fave television shows and fave songs. The iPod mini came in green and pink and blue and other glorious colours. The nano and the iPod now come in white and black. All the colours are hot and look good.

What it has come down to is that when you wish to go in for a new music player, you may consider to get an iPod.

It’ll hold tons of songs, the battery life-span is great. You can play it for a minimum of twenty hours before you need to charge it again. The function of this programme is to play, store and organize all the music and video files on the iPod. Though iTunes has been developed by Apple, it’ll work with Windows 2k, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. ITunes is also unreservedly downloadable on the web. Apple Firm released the iPod in October, 2001. Since that time, the iPod has become the biggest selling transportable hard disk player. The way that the iPod was initially sold also made a contribution to its huge acclaim, with wonderful advertisements playing the coolest tunes in the background. The small size of the iPod is its biggest advantage, and you can take it with you wherever you go. This could have its issues, as the iPod is fragile, and the screen and case are subject to scratching, even during standard use. So now a large market has opened up, offering cases for your iPod to guard it from damage so you can take it literally anywhere. The cases have options for clips and straps, so your iPod need never leave your side, until you would like to put it away yourself.

Next, you can find more on Adding On To Your iPod Shuffle which you can access via the main website here at the iPod Shuffle Accessories Store blog.
